Hon. Alfred Allotey-Gaisie Inspires BECE Candidates in Korle Klottey

The 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) officially began on Wednesday, 11th June 2025, across the country. In the Korle Klottey Municipal Assembly, a total of 1,154 candidates from 35 public and private schools are sitting for the exams at six designated centres. These centres include Accra High School, Osu Ringway Estate Basic School, Osu Presbyterian Girls' Basic School, Nii Amugi Avenue Basic School, Adabraka Presbyterian Basic School, and St. Joseph’s R/C Basic School.

To show support and boost morale, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Korle Klottey, Hon. Alfred Allotey-Gaisie, embarked on a special visit to some of the examination centres on the opening day. His visit was not only to inspect the conduct of the exams but also to interact with candidates, encourage them, and assure them of the Assembly’s continued commitment to education.

Speaking to the candidates, Hon. Allotey-Gaisie advised them to remain calm, stay focused, and approach each paper with confidence.

“This examination is just one of many steps in your academic journey. Believe in yourselves, pay attention to instructions, and do your very best. The Municipality is proud of each and every one of you,” he said.

He further assured the students that the Assembly will continue to invest in education infrastructure and support services.

“When the results are out, we will celebrate your successes and continue to support you in your next phase of academic life,” he added.

The MCE also used the opportunity to express his appreciation to the teachers, school heads, invigilators, supervisors, and the staff of the Municipal Education Directorate for their tireless work in preparing the students and ensuring a smooth examination process.

“Behind every successful candidate is a team of dedicated educators and professionals. I thank you all for your commitment to shaping the future of our young ones,” he said.

Hon. Gaisie was accompanied by the Municipal Director of Education, Mr. Philip Aidoo, who also interacted with the candidates and expressed confidence in their performance. Mr. Aidoo acknowledged the strong collaboration between the Assembly and the Education Directorate, which continues to yield positive outcomes for basic education in the municipality.

“We are turning waste into resources, reducing emissions, and creating green jobs. These actions are environmentally sound and economically advantageous,” he said.

The visit was well-received by school authorities and candidates alike, many of whom expressed gratitude for the show of solidarity and encouragement from the MCE and his delegation.

As the BECE continues over the next few days, the Korle Klottey Municipal Assembly remains committed to providing a conducive and supportive environment for academic excellence.
