KoKMA Celebrates World Environment Day

World Environment Day is the United Nations day for encouraging worldwide awareness and action to protect our environment. This year’s theme is: “Land restoration desertification and drought resilience,” with the slogan, “Our Land, “Our Future”.

As part of the celebrations, a tree planting exercise which was organized by the National Council for Civic Education (NCCE) was observed at some selected Senior High Schools.

In the Korle Klottey Municipality, the activity took place at the Accra High Senior High School with executives of the School’s Civic Education Club led by the President, Miss Patience and the Patron, Mr. Patrick S. Offei.

Mr. Prosper Oti Mensah, the Korle Klottey Municipal Statistician was the Special Guest of Honour for the occasion.

The NCCE Municipal Director, Mr. Nii Adjiri Sackey on his part, encouraged the students to take good care of the trees/seedlings. “It will be part of your handing-over notes to your successors”, he reiterated.
