The Minister for Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development Hon. Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah has paid a working visit to inspect the ongoing construction of the Odawna Market in the Korle Klottey Municipality.
According to Hon. Nii Adjei Tawiah, Municipal Chief Executive for Korle Klottey Municipal Assembly, the tour is for the sector minister to familiarize himself with some ongoing government projects such as the 14 sheds Market features a two-storey creche building, and washrooms & bathrooms.
Speaking during the tour, the Minister, while acknowledging the progress made, highlighted some challenges that have hindered the completion of the project.
These include encroachment by individuals, with one building constructed within the market’s premises, and some business operators preventing the contractor from erecting walls around the market.
“Work has toiled for some time now and the Assembly is determined to work around it to ensure that work is completed for the benefit of the community.” said Hon. Nii Adjei Tawiah.
