The Municipal Chief Executive for Korle Klottey Municipal Assembly, Hon. Nii Adjei Tawiah has commended the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon. Henry Quartey for his instrumental role for making Accra work again.
Nii Adjei Tawiah was sharing his impression to the media on the sideliners of the decongestion and clean- up exercise within the Central Business District (CBD) on Tuesday. The exercise was to ensure traders selling on the pavements and medians are moved and the areas are also cleared of filth.
The clean- up exercise started at 4.a.m from the Graphic road, through Obetsebi Lamptey Interchange, to former Farisco Traffic lights through the National Investment Bank (NIB) Cocoa board to the UTC areas.
The Regional Minister Hon. Henry Quartey and the Greater Accra Regional Co-ordinating Council led the exercise while the Korle Klottey Municipal Assembly (KoKMA) and the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) supported with their general Task Force including officials and staff from the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) to give a face- lift to the beautification of the city," said Nii Adjei Tawiah.
Apart from the two Assemblies, and the Greater Accra Regional Co-ordinating Council, more than 500 security agencies drawn from the Military, Immigration Service, Fire service, the Police and the Prisons services took part in the Exercise.
